Items Needed for the Children

Ni hao, everyone! I know that many of you have already helped in tremendous ways, which I am appreciative of, but Maria's Big House of Hope and Hope Healing Home both need some items. I have offered to bring some donations along with me to China and was wondering if you could help by both donating money and items! Every bit is appreciated! Thank you!

Here are some items from New Hope Foundation's Website:

Items not easily found in Beijing:

* Kolcraft Tandem strollersDouble strollers (Kolcraft Tandem strollers or similar)
* Hand sanitizer gel
(Those who wish to contribute financially to buy in bulk, please contact Rebecca Dorris. Rebecca will also receive donated items sent to her within the US to be forwarded on to us by individual travelers.)
* Cot-sized mattress protectors, approximate size 45 inches (115cms) by 30 inches (76cms)

Medical items:

* Oral replacement salts
* Baby colic drops
* Cough, cold and fever medication for infants
* 2-inch Soffban padding, stockinette, fiberglass for casting clubbed feet
* Antibiotic eye ointments or drops
* Asthma medication for use with a spacer or with a nebulizer
* Dressings – Hydrogel dressings, thick gauze abdominal pads, regular sterile gauze
* Antibiotic ointments or creams such as Bactroban
* E45 or any similar water-based creams
* Liquid multivitamins for infants and young children
* Phenobarbital 30mg tabs
* Stool softners (any brand) for children with constipation
* Sodium valproate liquid
* Baclofen tab 10 mg tabs

We are often asked what quantities we need. The answer to this question would be “whatever you can provide.” These are ongoing needs and the number of children we are care for are ever increasing.

Liquid Formula: Peptamen Jr. ($170 case of 24 cans)

PediaSure ($60/case of 24 cans)



Crib Mattress Protector Pads (Amount needed 150)

Available at most retail stores; cost about $15 per pad



Floor Gyms/Play Mats (Amount needed 30)

Special Foam Tumble Chairs for children with Cerebral Palsy (Amount need = 30)

Small size (specifically designed for babies and infants); average cost is $350/chair

Medium size (specifically designed for toddlers and young children; average cost is $400

*they have enough Digoxin and Dr. Hill is requesting stool softeners (any brand).

*Priority Need* Sodium Valproate and Baclofen (these drugs are used for child with Cerebral Palsey) and greatly need at MBHOH if any of nurses can help out!
